IMG_3020  NEW Soothing Honey Eye Cream- Introductory special $35.00 15gm jar.

Before we talk about eye creams, I recognise that we have all heard a heap of promises about how eyeceams reduce or even negate the signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles and dark circles. But aren’t eye creams just more-expensive moisturisers in a smaller container? While all those promises would be amazing if they followed through, just like applying a great moisturiser,  an eye cream is only part of the story. Great health and healthy skin can’t be bottled but require a holistic approach- a good diet, water, exercise, a healthy and positive outlook and  managing stress levels  are just some of the factors that contribute.

A  good eye cream is  formulated specifically for the delicate skin around the eye and often contain  a lot of active ingredients aimed at the problems we see around the eyes.

The skin around the eyes is more fragile, more prone to dryness, and quicker to show age and fatigue. Squinting and constant movement of the eyes also hasten the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles. Eye creams can address some of these issues.

Fine line and wrinkles come from both sun damage and  also your skin making less collagen as you age. Collagen helps maintain skin’s elasticity. Ingredients that help boost collagen and help prevent water loss in the skin ( eg. hyaluronic acid, honey) and improve elasticity are essential in a good eye cream.Dark circles under the eyes come from genes, sun damage, age, and blood build-up. Puffiness is a buildup of fluid and blood under the eyes. Cooling, soothing ingredients, which are anti- inflammatory and gently tighten the area,  can help target both of these. Some clients even prefer to leave their eye creams in the fridge to add the other element of cold. This is a great idea, if you can be disciplined enough to get it out daily but simple ease of access is more important to most people.

Is there a way to apply eye cream to get the best results?

Eye cream should not go on your top eyelid nor directly below your bottom lashes. Using the ring finger, dab along the orbital bone below the eye and the eye socket above thunder the brow bone but not on the

    eyelid itself.
