Do you really need to use hand cream? We seriously neglect these most essential tools quite often yet we expect them to retain their smoothness, moisture while continue to perform all the tasks we do with them. They allow us to perform many tasks at home, at work, and in the garden but we often leave them without protection in the environment and in poor condition.
What do you do with your hands?
Pull out weeds or dig in the garden? Prune? Transfer compost, repot baskets and plant pots?
Mix concrete? Car repairs? Home maintenance or painting?
Prepare meals – Chopping, slicing, beating?Wash dishes several times a day?
Scrub the kitchen floor, shower or bath?
Wash hands a dozen times a day?
Soothe a child’s brow? Stroke a loved one?
Spend many hours on a computer keyboard? Filing?
Prepare meals – Chopping, slicing, beating?
Crafts? Knitting? Sewing? Mending? Patchwork? Art?
Shower? Bathe? Clean teeth? Bathe children? Apply skincare products?
These are just a few of our daily tasks. We hardly ever clean out face without applying a moisturiser but hands are often an after thought. One of the first places to show aging is your hands if you neglect them. The skin is thinnest on top of your hands and can become dry very quickly. The skin on your palms is often a lot thicker and a cream has to be richer and full of moisture to penetrate this area and hold that moisture in. Using a quality hand cream is one of the best ways to repair and restore damaged hands, so they look and feel softer and continue to perform the tasks we ask of them for many years yet.
All hand creams are NOT created equal. The temptation is to purchase a very low cost cream, ( as it’s only hands!) or one that promises much and smells divine, only to find it disappointing. Cheap hand creams are cheap for one reason – their ingredients and they can be made up of to 80% water. That great perfume is often synthetic and doesn’t improve the quality of the cream.
Can’t you just use body cream? your hands are constantly exposed and need a different type of care. that’s the reason why HoneyBliss creates hand softeners and separate body pampering creams. ingredients like shea butter, essential oils and coconut glycerine will add much needed moisture to your skin.
