I’ve always been a honey girl, from very young. I admit that then I used to eat honey, rather than put it into all my skin, healing products and body care.
New Zealand has achieved recognition worldwide for its high standards of UMF active manuka honey and what an amazing health tool, food, skin healer, pain andinflammation reliever it is.
(UMF) Active manuka honey contains two ingredients, MG, and hydrogen peroxide, which make it a powerful antibiotic and antibacterial agent. MG (methylglyoxal) is found in most honey, but the highest concentration is foundin the nectar of the Manuka flowers. The UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor and honey is graded on its therapeutic value from 5+ to 20+.It comes from bees that pollinate the native Manuka bush. Only those specific bees in specific regions ofNew Zealand can create this powerful honey which is tested and verified by independent labs for its properties and exported all over the world.
Manuka honey is one of nature’s most powerful natural medicines. Its incredible anti-microbial properties have been credited due to the enzyme called methylglyoxal.
Manuka honey contains about 100 times more of this enzyme than conventional honey. A little less known, is the contribution this honey makes to inflammation, pain and skin irritations and skin healing.
As an aromatherapist of over 22 years, and a great believer in the power of quality essential oils, I wished to bring the best of these two worlds together in my boutique business, HoneyBliss. Understanding how the bees work as a unit for the good of their hive has been a real eye opener. The returning bees to the hive dance for the other bees, giving them an accurate flight path plan to follow.
This youtube video
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7ijI-g4jHg ) is amazing and shows their clever communication, by way of the waggle dance. This is a seriously complicated set of steps informing the hive where the pollen is to be found. It involves ‘dancing’ the angle and distance from the moon and sun.
Sharing the ‘right direction’ has become a theme for HoneyBliss and the waggle dance graphics are depicted in the background of all my marketing. I even had a waggle dance tattoo, designed by my daughter, which I wear with pride on the inside of my left arm.
If I can support people to find their own right direction for their lives, by growing
into their own authenticity and making more self-nurturing choices for themselves, I can’t imagine a better outcome.
