External scars can be itchy, tender and painful and heal in different ways. When the bandaging and/or strips come off, it’s sometimes not enough to apply your usual moisturiser or skin cream. Healing is still taking place with new skin growing even though the incision looks knitted together. There is also still some risk of infection and the skin may actually start to feel quite rough around the area and gets irritated easily.
I developed the Scar & Skin Soothing Balm to help with irritated skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis and allergic reactions. It helps soothe irritation and calms skin, while the sufferer can explore possible causes and triggers with a skilled practitioner.
With the inclusion of oils of calendula, tamanu and rosehip, plus the amazing healing qualities of active manuka honey, this balm is designed to repair and heal skin on top of as well as below the surface layer. The addition of aloe vera in rosewater, lavender water, comfrey extracts, essential oils of frankincense, lavender and lemon soothe and help protect against infection as well as the formation of healthy new skin cells.
The balm is available in two sizes 50 gm and 100gm and you only need to apply small amounts. If the scarring is on a larger scale, there is also a lotion pump form available for larger areas, and this is also more suited for young tender skin in children.
